Here are a selection of private commissions from Wedding designs and poems through to the rather unusual request to design a calligraphic motif to be cut into floorcovering materials.

Sometimes wedding commissions are for the main stationery items to be hand lettered, but in the examples here the brief was to design a calligraphy style featuring the couple's names which would be printed on everything related to the wedding to ensure continuity.

An unusual request was for a housename on a polished granite plaque. This required John to scan his original lettering into computer and create a vector type file that's used to make a mask for sandblasting the words onto the stone while keeping the exact calligraphic style.
